The cable car is closed from Mon 26th to Wed 28th of September due to scheduled maintenance
The cable car runs from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen (421 m above sea level) in just four minutes. The two gondolas, known as Seal and Polar bear, each have a capacity of 28 passengers. From the viewing platform at the upper station, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords. At the fully licensed Fjellstua restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious dinner based on local produce or select light meals from the café menu, while you take pleasure in the view.

You will find a parking area for cars, buses, bicycles and other vehicles beside the lower station. Please pay for your parking at the automated payment machine.
The Cable Car is disability-friendly, with a ramp at the lower station and a wheel chair lift at the upper station.
Pets are permitted in the gondolas but not in the café.

The official Midnight Sun season in Tromsø runs from 20 May to 22 July. During this period, the entire sun is above the horizon 24/7.
You can chase the Northern Lights from September to April when it’s dark and clear. The most frequent outbursts are between 18.00 and 02.00. Tromsø is situated in the middle of the Northern Lights Belt and is a prime spot for experiencing the Northern Lights.
