The Cable Car runs from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen (421 m above sea level) in just four minutes. The two gondolas, known as Seal and Polar bear, each have a capacity of 28 passengers. From the viewing platform at the upper station, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords. At the fully licensed Fjellstua restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious dinner based on local produce or select light meals from the café menu, while you take pleasure in the view.

You will find a parking area for cars, buses, bicycles and other vehicles beside the lower station. Please pay for your parking at the automated payment machine.
The Cable Car is disability-friendly, with a ramp at the lower station and a wheel chair lift at the upper station. A companion is necessary.
Pets are permitted in the gondolas but not in the cafe.
On foot - It takes approx. 45 minutes to walk from the city centre.
By bus: You can catch bus no. 26 from the city centre. Check tromskortet.no for timetables.
By taxi: A taxi ride from the city centre costs approx. NOK 150-250.
The official Midnight Sun season in Tromsø runs from 20 May to 22 July. During this period, the entire sun is above the horizon 24/7. The Fjellheisen view point is a magnificient place to enjoy the Arctic Midnight Sun.
You can chase the Northern Lights from September to April when it’s dark and clear. The most frequent outbursts are between 18:00 and 02:00. Tromsø is situated in the middle of the Northern Lights Belt and is a prime spot for experiencing the Northern Lights. The Fjellheisen view point is a magnificient place to spot the Northern Light.
